LS Power was founded in 1990 and is a fully integrated development, investment and asset management group of companies focused on the power industry. LS Power has more than one hundred professionals based in New Jersey, New York, Missouri, California, Florida and New Hampshire. LS Power is recognized as an industry leader, having completed some of the sector's most successful development projects and investments. LS Power has maintained its leadership position over the years by:

Development — LS Power Development

LS Power has completed the greenfield development of nine natural gas-fired projects, representing over 5,700 MW in generation capacity, as well as two coal-fired projects with 1,565 MW in capacity. LS Power is currently developing select coal, gas and wind generation projects throughout the United States and a transmission line in Idaho and Nevada. The firm’s approach to its development projects emphasizes targeting high-growth markets, establishing strong relationships with the local communities, executing long-term power purchase agreements, and building and owning environmentally sound and reliable facilities.

LSP Polaria
LSP Polaria ("Polaria") focuses LS Power's activities related to the development of green energy sources and projects that will capture, offset or reduce carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and related emissions. Polaria will seek to identify and develop investment opportunities in infrastructure and technologies related to carbon capture, offset and storage, as well as select renewable and efficient energy projects.

Acquisitions — LS Power Equity Partners

In 2005, LS Power launched LS Power Equity Partners I, a $1.2 billion investment vehicle focused on the power industry. In 2007, LS Power closed LS Power Equity Partners II at $3.085 billion. To date, LS Power Equity Partners has purchased eighteen power generation projects with approximately 11,800 MW of generation capacity located in various markets across the U.S.

Asset Management — LSP Services

LS Power provides a full range of asset management services for the power generation projects it develops or acquires and for third parties on a selective basis. These services include the management of all construction, commercial, financial, legal and regulatory issues affecting the project. The firm has managed more than 4,300 MW for third-party owners in the past.
