We are deeply invested in and committed to our neighbors living in the surrounding areas near our projects. We seek input from local leaders to help ensure our projects address issues they are most concerned about and to learn how we can contribute to the local economy and environment.
Our projects help stimulate local economies with new job creation, local hiring, and tax revenues ($394 million to date) that fund schools, fire departments, and other local services to support our communities.
Additionally, we have donated $7 million to philanthropic organizations around our projects and offices, including $1.8 million in 2020 for COVID-19 Relief in the form of Health/Community Support and Hunger Relief programs. Other categories of community philanthropic support include Economic Growth, Education/Youth Programs, and Environment/Infrastructure.
Please see our Community Giving Blog for more details of the organizations and efforts we support.
While being compliant with local and federal regulations is important, we view our responsibility as so much more than that. We work to continually minimize our environmental footprint and impact. Our awareness of local and regional environmental issues allows us to customize our projects accordingly which has led to innovative design features that promote the recycling or conservation of water as well as co-generation opportunities for neighboring industries. We use the latest technology to find the best possible solutions for the environment.

We like hiring from the local communities where our projects are based so that we can invest in and help stimulate the local economies where our workforce and neighbors live. It’s important to us to keep our workforce engaged, empowered and happy to be at work.
Because our workforce comes from the surrounding local communities, our corporate giving philosophy is also very locally driven. We enjoy seeking civic input in the development of our projects and help determine what charitable contributions would be of most value to our neighbors in the community.
