John King

John joined LS Power in 2006 and serves as Executive Vice President, Project Development.

John oversees large scale renewables, power generation, and data center development initiatives. John is also a member of the Management Committee and the Investment Committee. He developed and completed some of the earliest utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects in the U.S. and oversaw LS Power’s portfolio of operating power plants from 2013 to 2017. Prior to joining LS Power, John worked at Calpine Corporation from 1994 to 2005 in various positions, including as a Senior Vice President responsible for Calpine’s business development in the Western United States and international business activities.

John received a B.S.C. from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. from California State University, Hayward. John serves on the Board of Directors of renewable energy and storage companies Clearlight Energy and REV Renewables, as well as demand energy resources company CPower Energy.
