LS Power’s Gans Energy Station Supports Point Marion Fire Department
LS Power’s Gans Energy Station in Lake Lynn, Pennsylvania, was pleased to donate $11,385 to the Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department this year. This contribution will fund five sets of “bunker gear,” including helmets, gloves, turnout pants and coat, boots, and more. The triple-layer gear provides ultimate protection through Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, Personal Alert Safety System devices, and modern communication technology that enables firefighters to safely enter burning buildings and put out fires.
Other organizations supported by Gans Energy include:
- A Safe Place
- Clarence Center Volunteer Fire Co.
- Girl Scouts of Western PA
- Haven Ministry Inc.
- Indiana Free Library
- Lower Valley Co-op Ministries Food Bank
- Lower Valley Little League
- Salvation Army
These contributions are part of LS Power’s greater philanthropy effort in Pennsylvania, totaling nearly $115,000 in donations in 2022. Community support is a priority for LS Power’s power generation fleet in Pennsylvania, which beyond Gans also includes the Armstrong, Chambersburg, Hummel, Ironwood and Springdale gas generation facilities, as well as the Seneca Pumped Storage Hydro facility, operated by LS Power company REV Renewables. These projects collectively provide more than 4,000 MW of reliable power generation that provides electricity day in and day out, with the ability to be deployed quickly to support the grid during times of high electricity use and when weather conditions curtail wind and solar production.
Across these projects, LS Power has supported Pennsylvania community groups with more than $827,000 in charitable donations since 2017.
