LS Power Completes Acquisition of EMC Development Co.

LS Power Completes Acquisition of EMC Development Co.

In July 2019, LS Power acquired EMC Development Company (trade name Electric Market Connection, ”EMC”) through its CPower portfolio company.

EMC, based in Columbia, Maryland, is the largest non-utility energy efficiency (“EE”) aggregator in PJM. EMC manages ~315 MW of EE resources, with ~80% located in premium, non-RTO capacity zones (EMAAC, PSEG, MAAC). Through the acquisition of EMC, CPower will become the largest EE provider in PJM, more than doubling its existing EE MW under management to ~515 MW. As a result of this transaction, there are enhanced growth opportunities for the combined entity across energy efficiency, demand response and distributed energy service offerings.
